internet account and e-mail accessability? Not to mention the tolerant
(although increasingly reserved) welcome to indigents and the many other
resources available to the poor. One of the last bastions of a
progressive rent control law, deregulation may not bode well for the
future, but at least it locks in a livable rent for people of moderate
to low income. Finally, it's past illustrious reputation as a liberal
bastion - its Red-China-By-The-Sea label - cannot be totally undone by
the onslaught of rich yuppies who are taking over. But then, a mixture
of citizenry from every level of the socio-economic chain, doesn't that
in itself define liberalism?
It's not Manhattan Beach, you know.
